University of Missouri-Columbia
A Guide for Graduate Instructors, Teaching Assistants and New Faculty

Welcome to "Teaching at Mizzou", the online teaching guide that has been created for beginning teachers — teaching assistants, graduate instructors, and new faculty. It is an attempt to provide practical suggestions that you can use in your classroom and is the compilation of the advice of many experts on this campus. This is not a thorough treatment of any of the topics. We have deliberately kept it short and offered key resources for further exploration of a topic. And although we have intended this guide for beginning teachers we believe that even seasoned teachers will find useful information.

Teaching is an incredible opportunity to tell others about your discipline and to learn more about the subject you teach. Your role as a teacher is important and we hope this guide provides you with some tools to help you get started.
